These terrific facilities come alive in the hands of well qualified staff who deploy them to facilitate the high quality of lessons they deliver; every period of every day, every week.

Our students deserve the best, so they can be the best.

We inspire young people through our dynamic curriculum. We combine excellence in traditional GCSE subjects that form the core of any young person’s learning, with leadership in newer subjects that prepare them for a productive place in the knowledge based and globalised economy.

Our school is organised into 5 faculties, each offers a variety of qualifications which provide challenge and stretch for our most able, as well as success for our most vulnerable young people.

We achieve this even within a single department, MFL. For example, we are able of offer Latin to our most able students, have excellent results in our core language offer in French and Spanish, and we offer a variety of home languages from Arabic to Vietnamese. This year we have broardened this further through the offer of Chinese Mandarin lessons to students in Year 7.

We are proud of our specialist Arts College Status.

Exceptional Music, Drama and Art teachers have nurtured the talents of young people who have, within years of leaving the school, achieved national recognition, they have appeared and performed on television and on stage.

Our Sport provision is outstanding; we have repeatedly won the accolade of the best sports school in the borough of Lewisham, indeed we are the Lewisham hub school for excellence in sport. Our expertise here has led to us being the lead school for primary outreach.

Prendergast Ladywell School cares for student wellbeing and inclusive education. Our prayer room provides a quiet space for reflection, meditation or prayer in school, to which they can come when necessary, during the day. It facilitates for pupils to reflect on, and - if they want to - pray about their identity, relationships with others, and issues of injustice around the world. They are quiet and safe spaces for individuals to take part in religious practices. They give students sense of belonging and acceptance.
