Careers Education

Back to Key Information

At Prendergast Ladywell School, we provide our students with a comprehensive careers’ education programme. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our holistic approach, which integrates careers education, information, advice, and guidance (CEIAG) into our Personal Development curriculum.

At Prendergast Ladywell School, our aim is to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to identify and pursue careers and progression routes that align with their individual strengths and interests. Through a range of engaging activities, including PSHE lessons, work-related learning experiences, career fairs, mentoring, and more, we provide students with valuable opportunities to explore their passions and develop the necessary skills for success in their chosen paths.

We are proud to align our careers provision with the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks of Good Career Guidance, ensuring that our programme meets the highest standards of quality and effectiveness. Over the week you will meet a variety of people who work in construction and engineering,

learning about their jobs and their route into construction. They come from a wide variety of

You will also meet recruitment experts to give you hints and tips on CVs and interviews.

With the help from their presentations, using your own skills and those of your team members, you will work to create a presentation which shows why our judges should pick your company and its designs to build part of the new road.

There are two options for you to be involved in this week and below will detail more information:

Meet the students, a virtual fair by Unifrog

Meet the students: what is university really like?

For students

When it comes to deciding if university is right for your students, there's no-one better placed to answer their questions than current undergraduates!

Year 10–11 students are invited to our virtual event to chat with undergrads from 30 universities, including Loughborough University, University of Exeter, and SOAS.

They can attend live sessions on how to make the most of open days, choosing the right course, student finance, and lots more. Throughout the fair, there'll be dedicated timeslots for students to visit universities' virtual booths to get their questions answered one-on-one.

Teachers, advisors, parents, and caregivers are also welcome to join us:

> Students can sign up here (8 May, 16:30–18:30)
