Art
The Art and Design curriculum at Prendergast Ladywell School complements the broad and well-balanced whole school provision for our students. It provides a wide range of opportunities designed to extend and develop skills and knowledge, allowing individual expression of thoughts and ideas. The curriculum encourages individuality but also develops a sense of teamwork and mutual respect.
We provide an inspiring and challenging curriculum with practical elements which focus on developing transferable skills aiming to develop resilient, confident, and creative thinkers with an empathic understanding of our place in the world.
Our art curriculum uses subject specific vocabulary to encourage discussion and debate on key issues, promoting curiosity and critical engagement by challenging preconceptions, using both historical and contemporary references to develop a wider understanding of the power of art and design in society.
Our curriculum is designed to reflect our diverse community through an inclusive approach to content, giving individuals the confidence to succeed and the resilience to aspire, and to inspire others.
